『What's a good expression to write on a new year's card?』
「年賀状に書くいい表現ってどんなものがあるかな？」

○common　：　一般的な、普通の

『Hmm, it's a common phrase "With best New Year's wishes!"』−『Do you have any other idea?』
「うーん、”あけましておめでとうございます。”とかは一般的だよね。」−「他にはある？」

○get together　：　集まる、会う

『Well, how about this? "May 2006 brings you happiness! I hope we can get together more often this year than last year."』
「じゃあこれはどう？“２００６年があなたに幸せをもたらしてくれますように！今年は去年よりももっと会えるといいね。”」


■Break Time■　−戌年−

２００５年も残すところ後わずかですね。
来年は戌年ですが、この「戌年」を英語では何と表現するか、ご存じですか？
正解は『Year of the Dog』。他の干支の場合も『Year of the 動物名』のようにあらわすんですよ。
因みに「十二支」とは『the Chinese (animal) zodiac』と言うんだそうです。
