■Today's Words■　−道を案内する−

○wrong　：　間違った

You're headed in the wrong direction.
「逆方向に向かってるみたいですよ。」

○intersection　：　交差点

Go straight for two blocks.
Then turn left at the intersection.
「２ブロック真っ直ぐ行って、交差点を左に曲がってください。」

○pedestrian　：　歩行者用の

Cross the street at the first pedestrian crossing.
You'll see the big bookstore.
「最初の横断歩道を渡ると、大きい本屋さんが見えますよ。」


■Break Time■　−ついてきてる？−

英語で道順を聞いたり、教えたりするのは、なかなか大変だと思うのですが、みなさまはいかがでしょうか？
案内する道順の説明が長い場合、簡単な表現で、例えば『Are you with me?』「ここまでは大丈夫？（私の説明に）ついてきてる？」といった感じで、相手の理解具合を確認してあげるのもよいですね。
