『Congratulations on your 10th anniversary!』
「結婚１０周年おめでとう！」

○well-rounded　：　円満な、均整の取れた

『What are you doing to make yourself a well-rounded couple?』
「夫婦円満のためには何を心掛けているの？」

○put oneself in the other person's shoes　：　相手の立場になる

『You know, sometimes you have to put yourself in the other person's shoes.』
「そうだな、時々は相手の立場に立ってみる事だよ。」


■Break Time■　−秘訣−

本日の表現では夫婦円満に関する秘訣を話していましたが、この「秘訣」を英語ではどのように表現するかご存じですか？
これは、実は『(the) secret』でＯＫなんですよ。
例えば『secret to 〜』で「〜の秘訣、〜するための秘密」という意味になります。アメリカのパウエル国務長官が言った『There are no secrets to success.』「成功への秘訣などない」という言葉を耳にした事がある方もいるのではないでしょうか。
